What Happened

Salesforce unveils Slackbot, a new AI agent that allows users to complete tasks across multiple enterprise applications from Slack.

Our Take

Salesforce finally connecting the dots. Slack's where work happens; making it agentic for enterprise tasks is obvious. The question's not 'should we?' but 'does it actually reduce clicking through eight different apps?'

Look, if Slackbot can genuinely execute workflows—provision access, create tickets, close them, query databases—without leaving Slack, that's useful. But we've heard 'unified workspace' before. The execution matters. Is it just a fancy chat wrapper, or does it have real permissions and can it actually do stuff?

What'll make or break this: does it handle context across enterprise systems (JIRA, ServiceNow, Salesforce) without you explaining everything twice? If it's half-baked, it's just another chatbot in your sidebar.

What To Do

Check if your team's using Slack Workflow Builder already—Slackbot's probably trying to replace that with smarter inference.
