Anthropic launches interactive Claude Apps with Slack, Figma, Asana integration

What Happened

Anthropic has launched Claude Apps, enabling Claude to directly interact with and control tools including Slack, Figma, and Asana rather than generating text-only responses. The feature reflects the company's push toward agentic AI, where models take actions inside software on behalf of users. The release follows growing adoption of Claude Code among developers and extends the agentic model into enterprise productivity tools.

Our Take

Look, we've been saying 'agentic AI is the future' since GPT-4 dropped. Anthropic just actually shipped it in tools people open every morning. That's not nothing.

Here's the thing — this isn't Zapier with a chatbot bolted on. Claude doesn't trigger a workflow, it controls the interface. It can create Figma frames, close Asana tickets, post Slack messages. The capability model is genuinely different.

(The Figma integration is the one I'd pay for. Design feedback cycles are pure overhead. If Claude can act on comments directly instead of generating a wall of text I have to action manually, that's real time back.)

For a small team the risk is authorization creep. When an AI can post to Slack on your behalf or mark tasks done, you need a clear ownership model. That's not a Claude question — that's a 'who reviews what it did' question. Most teams don't have an answer yet.

This is Anthropic pulling away from the 'helpful text generator' positioning and planting a flag in actual enterprise workflow. Microsoft's Copilot has been trying this for two years and mostly fumbling it. Competition is good.

What To Do

Audit your Asana/Slack permissions this week and define a policy for what any AI integration is allowed to do before your clients start asking.
