Converting chat into commerce is the real game. You're already in ChatGPT. You ask something. You buy right there. For Walmart, that means your shopping habit lands inside OpenAI's app, not walmart.com.
The margin question's real though—Walmart runs on 2-3% margins. They can't absorb friction for cheap acquisitions. But if this works, every retailer's copying it.
