What Happened

Xcode 26.3 offers agentic coding capabilities with Anthropic's Claude Agent and OpenAI's Codex.

Our Take

Xcode 26.3 adding Claude Agent and Codex support is exactly what should've happened 18 months ago. The fact that they're shipping both models is smart — devs pick their poison. But this is defensive, not innovative. Apple's basically admitting they can't build this themselves and are just adding an integration layer.

Still, it matters for teams already locked into the Apple ecosystem (which is... mostly iOS devs). Better late than never.
