This Thanksgiving’s real drama may be Michael Burry versus Nvidia
What Happened
Is Burry the canary in the coal mine, warning of a collapse that's inevitable? Or could his fame, his track record, his now unrestricted voice, and a fast-growing audience trigger the very implosion he's predicting?
Our Take
Burry called the housing crisis. That's real. But just because he was right once doesn't mean he's a Cassandra — he's also been catastrophically wrong plenty of times (quietly). The weird part now is his platform. When someone with his credibility goes on X and says "implosion incoming," does that actually *cause* the crash he's predicting?
I think he's spotting real problems (GPU spending insanity, unrealistic CAPEX returns), but the outcome he's calling is more theater than prediction. His signal matters less than his megaphone.
What To Do
Don't buy or sell based on Burry's call — check his thesis against actual GPU utilization rates and CAPEX payback math instead.
