Developers are losing their minds because they're watching a master class in tool usage. Boris Cherny knows Claude Code's internals, knows how to frame problems, knows what to ask. It looks magical.
But that's survivorship bias. Boris is an exceptional engineer at Anthropic with full context of the system and years of AI experience. Most developers aren't there yet. What they're seeing is what *optimal* agentic workflow looks like, not what's typical. The gap between 'this is possible' and 'I can do this every day' is still massive.
What To Do
Study the workflow (prompt discipline, iteration loops, validation), not the results — your setup will be slower until your instincts catch up.
