Our Take
This is just ego. Claude's ads landed because they undersold instead of oversold — "it's a tool for builders" beats "we're the future." Sam got caught flatfooted and the "dishonest/authoritarian" rant is projection (OpenAI's board coup was the authoritarian move).
The real story? OpenAI feels threatened by Anthropic's positioning. That tells you something's working.
What To Do
Your positioning wins when you don't claim to be everything — be honest about constraints instead.
