Look, Sam's "technical safeguards" is just buzzword cover for doing what he was going to do anyway. Pentagon wanted OpenAI, Anthropic got the PR win by refusing, so now Sam's adding noise about protections and building anyway. The safeguard that'd actually matter—"we won't deploy this in live combat until independent eval passes"—isn't happening.

He's threading the needle: take the defense contract, sound responsible, move on. Classic play, honestly.
