OpenAI learned the hard way that Cameo trademarked the word ‘cameo’

Embarrassing. Cameo's had the trademark since 2016. OpenAI's legal didn't catch it. That screams 'we shipped Sora before our process allowed.'

It's not catastrophic—rebrand and move on. But bad optics for a company this size. You're not a 12-person startup anymore. This should've been caught in review.

Says something about prioritization: speed over process. Sora's being rushed to compete with Google and Runway.
