Gut reaction: "Chief futurist" is a pretty title for being sidelined. OpenAI just told us, loud and clear, that safety doesn't compete with shipping speed. Can't fault the business logic. Clear signal though.
Scattering the team kills momentum. When your best people on hard problems get reassigned, you're not deprioritizing—you're abandoning it.
