Our Take

Honestly? Every year someone declares screens dead. Voice is useful (driving, accessibility), but it's not replacing your monitor. The "every space is an interface" thesis is hype.

Voice wins for hands-free + eyes-free scenarios. Loses hard on visual feedback, creative work, and privacy. OpenAI betting on audio makes sense — they need something that isn't text.

But it's an addition, not a replacement.

What To Do

Build voice-first for cars and accessibility, not as a screen replacement strategy.
