↗What Happened
Rather than working from scratch to figure out how to make AI safer for teens, developers can use these policies to fortify what they build.
Our Take
Look, OpenAI doing something responsible is legitimately good. But open-sourcing safety policies feels like outsourcing liability. The hard part isn't the template—it's enforcement and knowing what "safe" means in context (hint: it's different for every app).
Some apps need strict filtering. Others need trust. No one policy fits all. OpenAI knows this. They're being clever.
Still, implement it anyway. Better than guessing, and regulators'll notice you tried.
