Intel will start making GPUs, a market dominated by Nvidia
What Happened
Intel has been bulking up a team to focus on this effort and will develop its GPU strategy around customer needs.
Our Take
Intel's doing the smart thing here — acknowledging Nvidia owns the market and building to customer spec instead of forcing their own vision. But here's the problem: they're years behind. CUDA's ecosystem is too entrenched. The real play would've been to own the software stack or partner differently, not just build another GPU.
Nvidia's already winning on supply, price, and software. Intel's entering a commoditized race it can't win on its own terms. They needed to do this in 2020, not 2026.
What To Do
Skip Intel GPU hype for production workloads — stick with Nvidia for AI infra, AMD for budget alternatives.
