What Happened

Anthropic looks to raise $20 billion at more than $300 billion valuation, according to reports.

Our Take

Okay, that valuation is absurd. $300B for a company that's been around 3 years with no consumer product and a handful of enterprise deals. This is pure VC panic-buying insurance ("if AGI happens, we need a seat at the table").

Doesn't mean Anthropic is bad—just means capital markets are pricing fear, not fundamentals. Real question: can they ship anything with that money faster than a smaller, hungrier team?

What To Do

Anthropic's next inflection point is shipping something enterprises actually depend on—capital alone won't solve that.
