What Happened
The Information reports that Anthropic expects to generate as much as $70 billion in revenue and $17 billion in cash flow in 2028. The growth projections are fueled by rapid adoption of Anthropic’s business products, a person with knowledge of the company’s financials said.
Our Take
$70B by 2028 assumes Anthropic out-executes OpenAI *and* owns 40-50% of the market. OpenAI's probably at $13-15B now; Anthropic's at maybe $1B. You don't swing that gap without OpenAI imploding or something genuinely revolutionary.
This is a funding slide masquerading as a forecast. Great for investor meetings, meaningless for strategy. They'll probably hit $5-8B (still excellent) and call it a win.
What matters: can they convert enterprise velocity into stickiness? Right now everyone's building on OpenAI. Switching costs are brutal.
What To Do
Watch their enterprise GTM and product pricing, not the revenue fantasy.
