What Happened

Google is launching "switching tools" that, just as it sounds, will make it easier for users of other chatbots to switch to Gemini.

Our Take

This screams desperation. Google's building "switching tools" because people aren't choosing Gemini — they're defaulting to Claude and ChatGPT. Winning products don't need friction removal.

The real problem: Gemini's still behind on reasoning and math. No switching tool fixes that. You can't UX your way out of a weaker model.

Honestly? They're fighting the wrong battle.

What To Do

Standardize on Claude for reasoning or GPT-4 for ecosystem breadth — Gemini's still the third choice right now.
