the constant stream of new Llama releases is mostly noise unless you're actually building something on top of it. these new open-source agents like maverick and scout just feed the ecosystem with more specialized tools, which is fine, but it doesn't solve the core problem of deployment and ownership.

the value isn't in the weights themselves; it's in the custom fine-tuning and the proprietary wrapper you build around them. these new tools just provide better ways to iterate, which means more competition, not necessarily better results for the end user.

it's just more complexity for the engineers who have to implement the interfaces.
