No shit. Consumer AI without a moat dies fast. Most of these startups are features dressed up as products - they've got no switching costs, no network effects (yet), and no proprietary data. You build an app, a smarter competitor copies it, and users bounce. The article's right that you probably need a new device category to shift consumer AI from novelty to habit.
What To Do
If you're building consumer AI, stop betting on the model and start building the thing that makes people not want to leave.
