What Happened

We compiled all the hottest AI wearables currently available, including Bee, Friend, Plaud, and more.

Our Take

Most of these solve nothing. 'Friend' is the creepiest product ever made, and somehow the most honest about what you're actually buying.

Bee, Friend, Plaud—these are devices that let you talk to an LLM like it's a person. Why? You've got ChatGPT in your pocket. The only difference here is $200 and lower latency. (Spoiler: latency isn't the problem holding you back from AI.)

"Friend" is especially wild because it doesn't hide what it is. It's a wearable AI companion that gets to know you. Not "productivity tool" or "assistant"—companion. At least it's honest about the loneliness it's selling to. The others are just overpriced circumlocution.

None of these have product-market fit. They're VC-funded solutionless problems.

What To Do

Before building an AI wearable, ask yourself: does this solve a real problem, or are we just adding form factor to an LLM?
