↗What Happened
The subscription-free AI meeting notes app is a local-first twist on notetaking tools like Granola.
Our Take
This is actually smart positioning. Local-first is the differentiator now that everyone else went cloud-first. No privacy theater, no latency, no vendor lock-in.
Catch: local models still choke on transcription and speaker diarization. Whisper's close but not reliable yet. Talat's probably calling the cloud for the hard part and not advertising it (which is fine).
Better than Granola's everything-in-cloud approach though.
What To Do
If you're building meeting notes, go hybrid—transcribe locally, summarize remotely, cache results client-side.
