Qualcomm’s partnership with Neura Robotics is just the beginning
What Happened
Neura Robotics is going to build new robots on top of Qualcomm's new IQ10 processors that were released at CES.
Our Take
It's just chips. Good engineering, boring story.
Look, processor partnerships aren't news—this is what Qualcomm does. Slap their latest chip in something (robotics, cars, drones) and ship it. Neura gets better silicon; Qualcomm gets another customer. That's the transaction.
The robotics angle is real though. Autonomous machines need local compute, not cloud callbacks. IQ10 chips hitting real products means the robotics push is actually happening, not vaporware.
Competent rather than exciting.
What To Do
If you're building hardware, check Qualcomm's processor roadmap before architecting—table stakes at this point.
