What Happened

Quora's AI platform Poe now lets users engage in group chats with up to 200 people across AI models and bots.

Our Take

Group chats with 200 people across models sounds cool but it doesn't change Poe's fundamental problem: it's not essential. You go to ChatGPT for GPT-4, Claude.ai for Claude, Gemini for Gemini.

Poe's just a wrapper. Unless Quora builds their own LLM, they're betting on being valuable enough that model providers won't cut them out. Spoiler: they will. This is mid-tier SaaS death—useful but not sticky.

What To Do

Don't bet on Poe; build direct integrations with model APIs instead.
