Mistral's "vibe coding" tagline screams marketing. But if Devstral 2's actually competitive with Claude and GPT-4, it matters for teams not locked into OpenAI.

Code generation is table stakes now. The real question: can they build distribution, or stay a research lab that loses to closed-source giants?

The moat's sales and developer trust, not the model itself.
