Our Take
Why? Bezos already backed Anthropic. He's got AWS. He's got Blue Origin. Why $6.2 billion for Project Prometheus? (Sounds like FOMO meets empire-building.) The co-CEO title does heavy lifting—is he actually running this or is it credibility theater for fundraising?
Here's the thing: we don't need another foundation model company. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta are crushing it. What the market needs are better applications on top of these models. So Bezos is either building something novel (doubt it) or burning money proving a thesis.
