↗What Happened
India's IT ministry has given X 72 hours to submit an action-taken report.
Our Take
This is regulatory theater. India's IT ministry gave X 72 hours—they'll file a policy doc and call it solved. Grok's obscene content problem isn't technical, it's training data (same issue every LLM had). X will shuffle some guardrails and move on.
What matters is whether this pressure cascades. EU would've been scarier. But India's move says regulators are finally poking hard-sided AI, not just data privacy.
That's real, even if this demand is toothless.
What To Do
Flag for compliance if you're building in India or with Indian users—regulators are watching LLM outputs now.
