Gut: Gemini-powered highlights is decent UX, but selfie count metric shows Google still misses the point.

Gemini finds your best shots instead of humans hand-picking. Good. But a selfie counter? Engagement theater. You open Photos for memories, not metrics.

It'll work anyway. People like nostalgia. If Gemini's decent at spotting good moments, this becomes a retention win and keeps you in Google's ecosystem.

Build "memorable moment" detection into photo features, not vanity metrics.
