Google's turning AI Overviews into a trojan horse for Gemini adoption. "Jump into conversation" is just funneling search traffic into their chat interface—and it works because they control the surface.

Here's the thing: this is Apple's playbook. Control the surface, control distribution. Every user clicking "learn more" lands in Gemini conversation. Product design, honestly.

Catch: AI Overviews still hallucinate. Converting janky traffic to chat before the feature works is risky.

What To Do

Google's betting moat-through-integration over product quality; don't expect Overviews to improve before adoption collapses.
