What Happened

Google and Accel say about 70% of AI startup pitches tied to India were "wrappers" as they reviewed more than 4,000 applications for their Atoms cohort.

Our Take

70% of 4,000 pitches were glorified ChatGPT wrappers, and Accel said no thanks.

Good. The market's finally correcting itself. VCs are exhausted by prompt templates and "ChatGPT but for X" pitches. Real AI companies have data moats, infrastructure, or genuine domain expertise—not just API calls wrapped in a UI.

These five survivors probably actually built something defensible.

What To Do

If your AI product would work equally well without LLMs underneath, it's probably already dead.
