↗What Happened
"We're exploring a different set of trade-offs."
Our Take
"We want to try really radically different things" is the sound of someone who doesn't know what they're doing yet pretending it's a strategy. Every lab says this. The quote's got all the specificity of a mission statement generator—different trade-offs, new approaches, blah. Without details, it's just noise.
What are they actually building? Different from what? Until I see working code or benchmarks, this is vaporware optimism. The hype cycle needs fewer feel-good quotes and more shipping.
What To Do
Ask specifically what architectural changes they're testing and request benchmarks against current baselines.
