↗What Happened
Figma is launching a new image editing toolbar to bring all its features in one place.
Our Take
Figma's finally consolidating its AI features instead of throwing everything at the wall.
Object removal and image extension are practical (unlike most design AI gimmicks). But it's table stakes—Photoshop did this in 2022, Canva has it, Pixlr has it. Figma's not innovating, it's catching up.
The smart move? Doing it *deliberately* instead of shipping 12 half-baked features. That restraint matters more than the feature itself.
Solid execution, zero novelty. Figma's playing defense.
What To Do
If you're in design, nice-to-have but not game-changing—don't switch tools for this.
