Honestly? Bumble saying they want to move past the swipe is marketing speak. Swipes = engagement = ad inventory = revenue. An AI that actually matched you well would kill their DAU.

Bee will match based on 'compatibility and goals'—probably pull in a few demographics that've been frustrated with swipes, then get ignored as people return to browsing profiles. It's a retention play, not a product philosophy shift.

Watch for the feature to launch, see a bump in press coverage, then disappear from the home screen in 6 months. They need swipes more than they need happy relationships.
