Our Take

Opt-in tagging is worse than useless — it's security theater. If labels can choose not to tag, nobody learns what's AI-generated.

You've created an inverted signal (untagged = suspicious, tagged = transparent). Real solution: mandatory metadata on upload, something with teeth.

This is Apple looking like they're solving the problem without solving it. Expect labels to quietly opt out.
