↗What Happened
Kindle Translate, an AI-powered translation service, is designed to broaden the reach of e-book authors.
Our Take
This is actually smart. Translation's expensive (humans), slow, and authors can't afford it individually. Amazon does it at scale, everyone wins.
It solves a real pain point (translation costs kill small publisher ROI) and expands Kindle's catalog into markets they'd otherwise skip. The authors get reach, Amazon gets inventory, translation vendors get displaced (sorry, guys).
It's not flashy, but it's the kind of boring AI move that actually matters—tangible value, clear economics.
What To Do
Authors: compare Kindle Translate output quality against your current vendor before committing.
