AI startup Tavus founder says users talk to its AI Santa ‘for hours’ per day
What Happened
Tavus has launched a new experience where you can chat with an AI Santa that asks personal questions and remembers your interests.
Our Take
"Users talk to AI Santa for hours per day"—that's either genius or genuinely depressing, honestly both.
Conversation memory that "remembers your interests" isn't new. Every chatbot does this. The only novel thing is the character wrapper and framing. Tavus is good at UX, so fine.
But "for hours" is PR math. Are they logging active conversation or screen time? I'd bet it's 15 minutes with 3 interruptions people are counting as "hours." The engagement claim needs receipts.
Smart positioning, boring tech, sus metrics.
What To Do
Ask for actual engagement data (session duration, conversation turns) before you believe the "hours per day" claim.
