AI chatbots can’t be trusted, proves study, but Apple made a good choice
What Happened
If there’s one piece of advice that bears repeating about AI chatbots it’s “Don’t use them to seek factual information – they absolutely cannot be trusted to be right.” A new study demonstrated the extent of the problem – but did show that Apple made a good choice in partnering with OpenAI’s Chat
Fordel's Take
this study is the only honest thing we’ve seen about chatbots: they're garbage. they absolutely cannot be trusted for factual information. they're trained on noise and probability, not truth. the fact that apple steered clear of deep integration proves they understood the risk.
don't feed your engineers or your clients critical data into these systems expecting accuracy. it's a liability, plain and simple. the convenience is a smokescreen for the inherent unreliability of the model itself.
