Agile Robots becomes the latest robotics company to partner with Google DeepMind

Google's doing what Google does: partnering with robotics startups to get training data for their models. Agile Robots gets the models, Google gets the robot interactions, everybody wins except whoever's left holding the bag when the partnership ends.

Foundation models for robotics are table stakes now—everyone's doing it. But here's where it matters: manufacturing at scale. Better models don't fix supply chain bottlenecks or the unit economics of hardware.
